Tay and Tay!

Addie, me, Lynne, Quynh, and Angie
me and Tristan Prettyman!

On Tuesday we went to see G-Love and Special Sauce with John Butler Trio and Tristan Prettyman at the amp. It was a great show! Tristan has an amazing voice... the song she sings with G Love, "Beautiful" is one of my favorite songs. My friend Roger got us VIP tickets so we had a table and my sister got us backstage because she knows G Love. We got to meet him, but he was mostly interested in talking to Cameron! haha! Well it was a great show!! I felt like a party animal going out on a Tuesday night! Bad Mommy! haha

First Day of School!!

Stella started at her new preschool on Monday. I was a little nervous because we really loved Ms. Jan and we had some pretty high expectations for day care. But she really loves it! Every day we get a little report card that says her mood (happy), her nap (slept), and lunch (what she ate and how much) and then they tell about all of the fun things they did that day, like wiggle to The Wiggles, finger paint, play outside, etc. And they are helping with potty training (woo hoo!) So we are having lots of fun, and not too much readjusting time. I think she is a BIG GIRL now! That doesn't mean I didn't cry.

YaYa's in town!

Stella and Rhett having a tea party.
He was a good sport!
you can't tell, but I braided her hair to the side.

So cute!

YaYa Lee and her daughter Dawn with Stella

At the salon, getting pretty

Lee came in on Friday and I DID talk her into making us the chicken and dumplings, and yes, they were amazing. We had a fun night with lots of food and wine. LOTS of wine! Our friends Dana and Bryon came over with their son Rhett. They are expecting another boy, Jax, any moment now! It was fun to see them and rub her belly. And Rhett and Stella wore out the carpet running around the house! There is nothing like sitting around telling stories with old friends. Time flew and we had a lot of laughs. The next day we did hair and then went to Hugo's. Nothing like a greasy burger to cure a hangover! We had so much fun! Now it's time for Stella's first day at school tomorrow, I'll keep you updated on how that goes!

Not Yo Mama's Banana Pudding

Today our friend Lee is coming into town and she is so much fun. We usually get her to make us homemade chicken and dumplings so I can't wait! I went ahead and made dessert for tonight... banana pudding. This stuff is very, very addictive. So if you are on a diet, stay away because when I make it, the leftovers become breakfast, and lunch, and usually a late night snack, too. Everyone loves it! The recipe is so easy, I thought I would take a cue from Sarah and put it on my blog. Enjoy!

2 bags Pepperidge Farm Chessmen cookies

6 bananas, sliced

2 cups milk

1 (5-ounce) box instant French vanilla pudding

1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened

1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk

1 (12-ounce) container frozen whipped topping thawed (I like the extra creamy kind)

Line the bottom of a 13 by 9 by 2-inch dish(sometimes I do two smaller ones if you want to give some away) with 1 bag of cookies and layer bananas on top. In a bowl, combine the milk and pudding mix and blend well using a handheld electric mixer. Using another bowl, combine the cream cheese and condensed milk together and mix until smooth. Fold the whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture. Add the cream cheese mixture to the pudding mixture and stir until well blended. Pour the mixture over the cookies and bananas and cover with the remaining cookies. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

*** VERY IMPORTANT***

They don't say this in the recipe, but if you want it to be REALLY good, make it the night before and let it sit in the refrigerator all night. It makes the cookies so soft. Also, the more ripe the bananas are the better it tastes.

Let me know if you try it! More recipes later... if I remember.

The Other Kids...

Fun at Waffle House!

Here are the pups!
Coco and Sophie
So... I used to be obsessed with my dogs. Yes, of course I still am crazy about them, but ever since Stella came along... well, I am sure you can guess. Has anyone else been like this? It is not how it used to be for them, but I am pretty sure they are ok with it. The pups are by no means forgotten or neglected, but let's just say that those two have not worn their matching Juicy Couture jumpers that I bought in New York for them since, say, about March 6, 2007. I used to obsessively snap pictures of Coco looking at me, head turned to one side, or Sophie, doing "the gummy bear". Now it's Stella, look over here. Stella! STELLA! I am the paparazzi! So I went and got the pups groomed and they looked and felt really cute, so I decided to take a few pictures! They really are cuties! So, I may be a lot busier than I used to be before Stella came along, but at least now they have each other. And Stella, carrying them around and pushing them in the doll stroller. Oh yeah. They LOVE that.

MTV in NWA

August Nightflying cover
Dancing to the music!
Sean and the guys online
On Sunday, MTV was in town at the Hammonds Center in Rogers to host a premiere party for our friend Sean's band, A Good Fight. They competed against about 6,000 other bands to have their video played... and they won! So the video was played in the middle of the season premiere of Made, the one where the girl is learning martial arts. They also played the song during the episode. Check it out online if you can! All the guys were online in these pictures because they had an "after party" live web chat on MTV.com. We went up there to support everyone and we had a lot of fun... lots of people. Stella was loving having a GIANT room with a GIANT screen and LOTS of attention. She was in heaven! So check out the song 'The Drama' by A Good Fight! I will keep everyone posted with any new updates about them.... maybe they will bring some fame to Fayetteville!

We woke up this morning, and we heard a little voice coming through the monitor. We looked up close and saw that Stella was already awake, sitting up in bed. She was looking into the monitor with her finger up to her lips, saying "shhh! shhh!" It was the cutest thing ever. What a sweetheart! Today after I picked Stella up we went by Bella Jack's and scored some sweet sale clothes.... I love the C&C stuff! I also dropped off a pink satin pillowcase to have Lulabelle embroider for her new school.... St. John's Preschool! They need a blankie and pillow for nap time. We can't wait for the new school, but we will really miss Ms. Jan! If anyone knows someone who is looking for infant care, there is a spot opening! Let me know if you know anyone. Have a great day!!

Bed Time Routine

That's baby, eating my hair. Yummy!
I am tickling her so she will smile for the camera
We are very much in a bed time routine. We all eat dinner, then Stella is off to the bath (or as she says, BAT! BAT!) for some shampooing, conditioning, and splashing. Then out of the bath, running around naked and squealing for about five minutes, then lotion, jammies, brush hair. Then we pile up together and drink some milk (thats right, we STILL have a bottle at night) and watch one of our favorite shows. Right now it's Weeds, Project Runway, Top Gear.... sorry Stella! We can't always watch Dora. This is when these pictures were taken... she can't go to sleep unless she twirls my hair. Ahhh, I love this routine!

Too Much Fun!

I went to Hobby Lobby the other day and on a whim I bought a bag of these panty hose loops. I think I had a moment thinking about all of those pot holders we made in the fourth grade. So Stella got them out yesterday. So much fun! Taylor's family came over and everyone got in on the action. She was so excited! She was like a little tribal queen!!
