Big Girl Bed!

Before....

and after!!
On Sunday night we decided that it was finally time to turn Stella's crib into a "big girl" toddler bed.  She wasn't trying to get out of it or anything, but she is getting to be such a big girl that we decided to do it as a treat for her.  She loves it!  I went to Target to get her some new bedding.  The selection of toddler bedding is pretty slim.  I had to piece this together, but I think it turned out really precious! And I am proud to say that she went right to sleep in her new bed and slept until 6:30 am the first night!  She woke up and let the dogs out of the laundry room, then came and got into bed with us.  It was a treat to get to doze off for a few extra minutes!  Last night was a little rougher.  She got up and came into our room about midnight and slept with us.  Not so fun!  So I don't know if I should wait a few more nights to see if she gets up, or if I should put up a baby gate.   I don't even know if that would work anymore!  If anyone has any advice or tips, please pass them along!

awe! Such a big step for miss Stella! I know my sister puts one of those gates (that sounds horrible haha) up on the door.

YAY!!! Thats a huge milestone!

Zach's room is upstairs and he climbed out of the crib at 18mo, so we HAD to find a way to prevent him from roaming the house. We started with a baby gate and when he learned to climb it, we put a child proof knob cover on his door on the inside. I have heard that if you just put them back in their bed and tell them they have to stay till morning when you come get them, and do that for a few days, they will break the habit of coming out.

Good luck! Sounds like she is doing GREAT so far!
